Welcome to our Collection - Art + History

Art, history, and contemporary culture come together through Museum London’s unique collections. Caring for more than 5,000 art objects, Museum London holds paintings, drawings, sculpture, prints, photographs, video, and installation works by Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadian and some international artists. The collection mostly dates from the 20th century to the present day, and focuses on the work of artists from London and Southwestern Ontario.

The Museum also houses a considerable collection of nearly 50,000 artifacts that document London’s history. The material culture collection is particularly strong in the areas of immigration and colonial settlement, industry, communications, medicine, and social history.

Museum London’s online collection provides our communities with important access to its art, history, and culture holdings. It also represents a valuable resource for researchers and academics, and aids our sister institutions in pursuing loans.

Museum London extends sincere appreciation to all of the artists and copyright holders for their generosity in allowing their works to be reproduced in our online collection. The support of the Government of Ontario, through the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, is gratefully acknowledged in the realization of this important project.
