Label TextThe brass plaque on this armchair reads: “This chair was presented by the government of Ontario and was in use for over 65 years in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario.” Ontario’s Legislative Assembly building opened in 1893 and this chair was among the original furnishings. In 1958, the London and Middlesex Historical Society received it. The chair represented the history of all that had happened at Queen’s Park in its 65 years of service.
