Label TextThis is a wringer. A person passed wet textiles between the rollers to remove water. It was quicker and easier than hand wringing. It was also more efficient, making wet laundry lighter. In 1861, the Canadian Agriculturist praised it for saving “labouring women a great deal of severe labor (sic).” This wringer was made by the Milland Brothers Limited, a local London company.
