Label TextThis is a Brenkert Light Projection Company lantern slide projector, called a Benopticon. Based in Detroit and founded in 1907, Brenkert was a prominent manufacturer of theater equipment. It produced a range of equipment including spot and flood lights, lantern slide projectors, and eventually, 35mm film projectors. It's part of a long history of projecting images to create magical effects, enhance and illuminate theatrical scenes, accompany lectures, and so on extends at least as far back as the seventeenth century.
