Label TextThis tuxedo belonged to the donor's great uncle, Mr. Samuel King (1853-?). In his late teens he came to London as one of the Bernardo Orphans. On the boat to Canada he met Mary Ann Allen whom he later married. With a Grade 2 education he started at the bottom of the C.N.R., and when he retired early, in 1903 at the age of 50, he had reached the rank of Master Car Builder. This item was worn by Mr. King in the 1890's.
