Label TextThis undated photo-postcard shows a view of Victoria Park in London, Ontario. Before the park land was transferred to the city in 1874, it was a site that hosted British troops. When the soldiers left, their barracks housed escaped enslaved people from the United States as one of the last parts of the Underground Railroad. Today, Victoria Park is known for hosting annual festivals, the seasonal lighting of lights, and an ice rink in the wintertime.
