Label TextDr. Edwin Seaborn lived from 1872-1951. His widow, Ina Matilda Bucke Seaborn, used this stationery after his death. Ina lived from 1877-1968. The use of stationery like this has a long history but is most associated with the Victorian era. Rules covered its use just as they dictated all other aspects of mourning. It was common for the bereaved to send letters on mourning stationery for a year or longer. This was a mark of respect for the deceased. These were also sent by friends to those who were grieving, to offer sympathy in their time of mourning.
