Label TextSeeing the rich colour of this fragment of stained glass, is it any wonder that blue has been associated with luxury and wealth? Long ago, natural sources of blue pigments, such as cobalt alumina salts for making blue glass, were difficult to produce and expensive to obtain. Only the wealthiest could afford objects made from it. Today, although far less expensive methods exist to make blue glass, deep, rich blues are still linked with feelings of luxury.
