Label TextThis photo depicts London's Blackfriars Bridge in the 1890s. This bow-type bridge, London's first one made of iron, opened on September 28, 1875, and was built by the Wrought Iron Bridge Co. of Canton, Ohio. Spanning the north branch of the Thames, it is 219 ft (66.8 m) long. It connected the main part of London to London West. It's the oldest surviving bridge in the city.
