Label TextThis paperweight, a souvenir of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, may have belonged to Londoner Harriet Priddis (1847-1922). When Priddis first saw George Washington Ferris’ 264-foot tall Ferris wheel, pictured on the paperweight, she vowed she would not ride it. But on August 2nd she did. Priddis wrote that it presented her with “the most wonderful panorama I ever saw.”
