Label TextThis is a Smallman and Ingram tea box. Lemuel H. Ingram and John B. Smallman established their drygoods store on Dundas Street in 1877. The business was so successful that by 1908, the owners built a five-storey department store at what is now 151 Dundas Street. The business had expanded beyond drygoods, adding items such as home furnishings and toys to their stock. In 1945, Simpson's bought the store and it operated out of the Dundas Street location until 1990 when it moved to the Galleria Mall.
