Label TextLondon's Columbia Handle Company manufactured this miniature baseball bat in the 1930s. Such bats served as souvenirs and helped market the company's products. First called the Columbia Handle and Lumber Company, the factory produced baseball bats as well as handles for hardware and gardening implements and more. It made its products from old hickory imported from the Southern United States as well as maple, ash, and elm sourced locally. The company had moved to London from Thamesville in 1895. Located first at the corner of Adelaide and Horton streets, it later moved to 51 Nightingale Avenue and then 465 Nightingale. The company remained there until around 1950.
