Label TextThe christening gown came from Queens Co., Ireland, from one or more sisters of Frederick Hamilton Kenny, who came to Canada around 1849.
This dress contains excellent examples of embroidery, tuck work, and drawn work. It was not uncommon for these gowns to be altered and reworked to fit another infant years later. This gown was altered to fit Isabel Kenny for her christening in 1909.
