Label TextThe Andrus Brothers came to London in 1860 and started manufacturing melodeons in a workshop on Richmond Street. They were in business for over 20 years making approximately 80 instruments a year mainly for home use but also for churches. Interest in the melodeon began to decline in the late 1880s when advances in manufacturing made the piano more affordable.
