Label TextThis is a London and Port Stanley Railway dog check tag. The railway launched in 1856 to transport goods and people, and according to this tag, dogs, between London and the Lake Erie port town of Port Stanley. Dogs on the train were housed in the baggage cars and the tag notes that "the transportation companies will not be responsible for any greater sum than $25.00 for any one dog or shipment of dogs".
