Label TextIn 1883, James Lamb won the gold-coloured medal when he came second in the “Fireman’s Tournament” bicycle race. A year earlier, in September 1882, a group of young London men had established the Forest City Bicycle Club. They could afford to participate in the expensive new sport of bicycling.
