Label TextThis is a 1915 Royal Coffee Roaster. Before laws against food adulteration, householders purchased green coffee beans that they roasted themselves. A new legal framework paved the way for the introduction of commercial roasters like this. Consumers purchased roasted beans that they could grind themselves. They could also purchase already ground coffee.
