Label TextLondon’s W. A. Jenkins Manufacturing Company, located at Ridout and King streets, sold many products under the Royal Purple brand name. William Alexander Hunt Jenkins (1874-1949) established the business in 1906. It endured into the late 20th century.
This Royal Purple Handbook for the Garden helped serve the needs of London and region home gardeners. By the 1880s, many members of the growing middle class established vegetable gardens. They had enough property and time to create and look after a garden. It had also become fashionable.
