Label TextLondon’s W. A. Jenkins Manufacturing Company, located at Ridout and King streets, sold hog tonic and conditioner, among many other products, under the Royal Purple brand name. William Alexander Hunt Jenkins (1874-1949) established the business in 1906. It endured into the late 20th century.
The sack is made of cotton. From the mid-1800s, cotton sacks began to replace wooden barrels as containers for grain, meal, sugar, flour, salt, feed, and seed. Cotton sacks were lighter, less bulky, and easier to transport than barrels.
