Label TextLabatt’s founded The Toronto Blue Jays in 1976 and hoped the team would be nicknamed the Blues. The company wanted to cement the association of the team with its beer, Labatt’s Blue. At first, fans couldn’t drink beer at Jays’ games. In 1982, the rules changed after Labatt’s and the public campaigned for beer at baseball games.
