Label TextThis ribbon comes from an annual picnic held for employees of the Free Press London. William Sutherland established the weekly Canadian Free Press in 1849. Josiah Blackburn purchased the paper in 1852 and renamed it the London Free Press. He published the paper daily from 1855. It stayed in the family through generations of Blackburn’s. In 1997, the Blackburn family sold the London Free Press to Sun Media Corporation.
