Label TextThis medal features the profile of Rotary founder, Paul Harris (1868-1947). In 1905, he established the organization to bring together young professionals in Chicago. It soon adopted the motto, “Service above Self.” By 1910, the Rotary idea spread to other American cities. In 1911, Winnipeggers established the first club outside of the United States. Rotary International was born.
