Label TextThis is a 1920 team photo of the London Shamrocks, a women's basketball team. Several years later, on April 7, 1923, the team won their third straight Ontario Women's Basketball championship, defeating Toronto 22-15 at the Armouries. The Shamrocks advanced to play against the western champion Edmonton Grads, but lost both games. Although the Grads earned the Dominion title, when the Shamrocks returned to London, City Council gifted each player with a signet ring displaying a shamrock and basketball.
