Label TextThis barrel churn is a product of the London and Petrolia Barrel Company. In 1886, John Forristal and William Hockin each closed their small, artisanal cooperages. They formed the London and Petrolia Barrel Company. This mechanized factory produced industrial quantities of barrels to supply markets across Canada and the United States. For decades the business adjusted to changes in demand for their product. By the late 1960s, it succumbed to new packaging materials as well as consumer packaging.
