Label TextBeulah Grace Ray used these tongs to bottle olives when she worked for London’s Gorman & Eckert in the 1940s. The company issued the larger pair, with her initials. Because they were too big for her hands, Beulah’s uncle made the smaller pair. Today, many women workers still face the problem of tools and equipment designed to fit a standard male body rather than women’s bodies.
