Label TextMerle "Ting" Tingley received this and one other medal upon his discharge from the army in September 1946. A couple of months earlier, in a letter to his sister, he confessed: “I don’t know what to do when I get home.” At 25 years-old, Ting could not decide between taking a trip to Western Canada or going back to art school for figure drawing and colour work. Turns out, he did both.
