Label TextLondoner Alan Cohen used this Macintosh computer in his business, the Young Canada children's department store. The Macintosh Classic II Computer was manufactured in 1991 and includes everything that was issued with it at purchase plus a few extras. On the side of the computer is the classic rainbow Apple sticker that was included with it when purchased. The machine was designed, manufactured and sold by Apple Computer, Inc. from October 1991 to September 1993. Like the Macintosh SE/30 it replaces, the Classic II was powered by a 16 MHz Motorola 68030 CPU and 40 or 80 MB hard disk, but in contrast to its predecessor, it was limited by a 16-bit data bus (the SE/30 had a 32-bit data bus) and a 10 MB memory ceiling. The slower data bus resulted in the Classic II being 30% slower than the SE/30. It has a 9 inch black and white screen. It has a “modern” look when compared to the SE/30. According to the computer museum in Brantford, “the Classic II ended an era and lead to the more advanced Macs of today, but they definitely served their purpose and are still one of the smallest yet functional computers in existence.”
