Label TextLondon’s Dominion Baby Carriage Company made this baby carriage. A Mr. Milroy began the business around 1866. In 1875, Arthur E. Hourd bought the business, operating it on his own and later bringing in partners. By 1890, the company manufactured children's carriages and sleighs, reed rattan chairs, and cradles. At first located at 68-70 King Street, in about 1895, the company moved to the southeast corner of Quebec and Salisbury streets. Around 1900 the company, now known as Hourd and Company, began manufacturing folding tables and chairs, which proved popular for home entertainment and bridge clubs. Hourd and Company ceased operations in 1959.
