Label TextThis small green plate commemorates London’s Normal School. Opened in 1899, this teacher training facility was the third such institution in Ontario. Here, students learned educational philosophy, teaching methods, and how to manage their students and classrooms. The building at 165 Elmwood Avenue East closed as a teacher’s college in 1958. Today, it is home to a branch of the YMCA.
