Label TextThis 1932 Canadian General Electric wooden table top radio is in the popular “Gothic” or Cathedral style. By this time, technological improvements had reduced the size and cost of radios. Stylistic choices only increased demand. By 1932, when this radio entered the market, many Canadians were feeling the Great Depression. The radio became a popular form of household entertainment, something around which the family would cluster to hear popular radio shows.
