Label TextConsumers used cream spoons like this to plug the necks of cream top bottles, the design of which Canada’s Dominion Glass patented in 1923. The cream in the milk rose into the bottle’s bulbous neck and when the spoon plugged the neck, the cream could be poured out. Consumers could also just simply spoon cream out of the neck, too. Fun fact: cream only rises to the top in unhomogenized milk.
