Label TextThis doll buggy is from the estate of Miss Joan Drummond, a teacher in the London schools until her retirement in 1969. She played with this buggy around 1906-1907. Doll carriages such as this one have been a popular toy accessory for over a century. In the United States, toy manufacturer Benjamin Potter Crandall marketed the first baby carriages in the 1830s and created doll carriages alongside the life-sized ones. These carriages came in a variety of styles and price points. The toy carriage designs often mirrored the baby carriage models that were popular and available at the time.
