Label TextAmerican William Thomas Rawleigh (1870-1952) began to sell his medicines and other products door to door in 1889. By 1914, the W. T. Rawleigh Medical Company was manufacturing and distributing over 100 household products, including mustard ointment. The company continued with the direct sales approach, with many householders eagerly awaiting the arrival of the "Rawleigh Man." Mustard ointment soothed aches and pains as well as minor skin irritations.
