Label TextScottish immigrant Reverend William Proudfoot (1788-1851) owned this walking cane. A Presbyterian minister, Proudfoot pictured below, preached his first sermon in London in the temporary courthouse on November 11, 1832. That day, the building hosted ministers of two other denominations: Reverends James Jackson, a Methodist, and Benjamin Cronyn, an Anglican.
