Label TextThis is Dr. Edwin Seaborn's medical bag. Seaborn was born on May 14, 1872 in Rawdon, Quebec, to Reverend William Minter Seaborn and Aquile Rondeau Seaborn. The family moved to London, Ontario in 1879. Seaborn graduated from Western University Medical School in 1895. After graduation he taught anatomy at the Medical School, becoming a professor of Anatomy and Surgery and the Chair of Anatomy by 1916. In 1916, he was appointed commander, at the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, of the No. 10 Stationary Hospital established by Western University. The unit served in England from 1916 to 1917, and France from 1917 until its demobilization in 1919. Seaborn entered private practice in London after the war. He carried out medical and zoological research while also pursuing his passion for local history. Seaborn retired in 1948 and died in 1951.
