Label TextSouvenir ware is commonly used to promote a city and it's best locations, attractions, and sites. This commemorative plate has the city of London's coat of arms and could be collected along with other city's emblems. Purchases of souvenirs assists the local economy and provides a tangible reminder of a person's time spent somewhere. That Reginald H. Cooper donated this plate is interesting. From Wininpeg, Manitoba, Cooper was city clerk with the City of London from 1946 to 1971 and the city's first chief adminstrative officer from 1971 until his retirement in 1974.
