Label TextOn December 21, 1891, the non-commissioned officers of the 7th Battalion Fusiliers presented a Grand Military Vaudeville and Entertainment at the Grand Opera House. Under the direction of Mr. A. D. Holman, it featured a range of performers, including Mrs. A. D. Holman. The Holman name was celebrated in London. In 1873, the Holman English Opera Company became London’s first professional theatre group. It featured parents George and Harriet Holman, their children, Sallie, Alfred, and Julia, as well as other family members and performers. Even after the company folded, a few former members remained active in London’s amateur theatre scene.
