Label TextThis tea canister comes from Marshall Brothers Tea Company, which was established in London in 1873 by George and Robert Marshall. The store was located at 67 Dundas Street and sold teas across Southwestern Ontario. They imported green and black teas from Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), India, and Japan. Their coffees came from Mocha, Java, and Rio. George's son, Ernest (1884-1974) took over the company in the late 1880s. He owned and operated the company for over 70 years. The facade of the building was saved in the 1980s and stored at Museum London. In 2018, parts of the facade were installed in Central Library, with a small exhibition about the company.
