Label TextJames Arthur Cairncross and Lindsay Tyler Lawrence opened the Cairncross and Lawrence drug store in 1886. First at 256 Dundas Street in 1886, by 1889 the business had expanded, and the owners needed larger premises. They moved to a location on the northwest corner of Dundas and Clarence Streets. The Cairncross and Lawrence pharmacy remained in the Cairncross family through four generations. They expanded to offer photo-developing services and well as optical consultations. It had expanded to six locations in London by the time G. Tamblyn Limited took control of the business in July 1967.
