Label TextAdam Beck (1857-1925), London’s mayor from 1902 to 1904, is depicted on this cigar box. How fitting that he also owned a box making firm in the city, the Beck Manufacturing Company Limited, which included cigar boxes in its product line! Adam and his brother, William, moved the business from Galt to London in 1884. London not only offered tax breaks but was also the heart of the cigar-making industry in southwestern Ontario.
