Label TextThis is Club House nutmeg box. In 1928, the Gorman & Eckert Company introduced the brand. The company itself began in 1883 when William Gorman and D.J. Dyson founded Gorman, Dyson & Company. It began packaging coffee and within two years had added spices, extracts, and baking powder to its product line. In 1890, after D. J. Dyson left the firm and R.C. Eckert joined it, the company was renamed Gorman, Eckert & Company. At this time, the business also expanded to include Spanish olives as a major product. The business continued to flourish, expanding to new facilities and adding still more products over the years. The Club House brand still exists and, now known as McCormick & Co. after that company bought Gorman & Eckert in 1959, is still in London.
