Label TextThis pot comes from the Queen Alexandra Sanatorium, which opened in 1910 to treat people suffering from tuberculosis. During and after the First World War (1914-1918), the sanatorium received soldiers who returned from overseas with the disease. They had contracted it in the terrible conditions they had endured at the front.
