Label TextThis promotional pin uses a military leader of the South African War (Boer War) (1899-1902), Lord Roberts to encourage sales. During the war, companies in London and across Canada both demonstrated patriotism and profited from the patriotism of their customers by adopting packaging that celebrated the men leading Canadian and other military forces in South Africa. This conflict saw some 7000 Canadians head overseas, 267 of whom died.
