Label TextThis is a c. 1950s Philishave rotary electric shaver. In the early 1930s American inventor Jacob Schick introduced an electric razor that required neither water nor lather. By 1937, he had sold 1.5 million of them. In 1939, the Dutch company, Philips, introduced a rotary blade design. With improvements, it took off after the Second World War (1939-1945).
