Label TextIn 1927 the new Hotel London was built opposite the City Hall, on the corner of Dundas and Wellington where the Canada Trust Tower is today. The new building replaced the now old-fashioned Tecumseh Hotel. The hotel was impressive, with 350 rooms, two restaurants, and stores including a barber's, flower, gift, and ladies hat shop. The hotel acquired a civic role as headquarters for the London Chamber of Commerce, the London Motor Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Canadian Club. The hotel was demolished in 1972.
