Label TextThis medal likely belonged to either Jessie or Arthur Robins, both of whom were active members of the Sunbeam Juvenile Temple No. 6. The medal would be given out when a member takes their pledge at a juvenile lodge. The Independent Order of Good Templars was introduced to Scotland in 1869 from the United States. It was an abstinence and temperance organization, and it quickly became very popular.
