Label TextThe Canadian-made Ross rifle failed the Canadians during the Second Battle of Ypres. Although an excellent sniper weapon, the Ross jammed repeatedly in battle. As one soldier wrote, “it is only good to us as a club.” It was phased out by 1916 and replaced with the Lee Enfield rifle.
