Label TextThis is a circa 1913 Edison phonograph. Thomas Edison was reluctant to give up cylinder phonographs because he argued that they produced a better sound. But he bowed to market demand and his company began to manufacture disk playing machines. This luxurious floor model catered to upscale consumers with larger homes and budgets.
