Label TextLondon’s Starr Company of Canada, established in 1917, sold this circa 1919 phonograph. This local business acted as a distributor for the Starr Company of Richmond, Indiana, makers of phonographs and records. During the 1910s, the patents held by Victor, Edison and Columbia expired. Many new companies took advantage of this as demand for machines and records exceeded supply.
