Label TextArtist Alice Priscilla Elliott (1873-1948) was born in London, Ontario, and later attended Hellmuth Ladies College, possibly between 1888 and 1890. Rev. Isaac Hellmuth and Rev. Cronyn founded Hellmuth Ladies’ College, and the school opened in 1869. While attending the College, Elliott perfected her skills in china painting, wood carving, and more. She may have continued her connection with Hellmuth Ladies College after completing her studies but that ended after her 1895 marriage to Frank Chalton. The couple had one daughter, Kathleen, before Frank’s sudden death in 1898. Alice married George Edmison in about 1900 and sometime in the 1900s, they moved to western Canada. They returned regularly for family visits until Priscilla Elliott, Alice’s mother, passed away.
